This house was built following the typical Canarian architecture in the 19th century and was destined to farm use. It was renovated in 2010 and conserves its traditional structure; it is equipped to provide for maximum comfort. The exterior of the house is done in local stone and the thick walls make the temperature in the house cool in summer and warm in winter. It is situated within an estate of 3000m2 where, depending on the season you can find fruit such as oranges, grapes, medlar trees, mangos, avocados, olives, lemons, guava and prickly pears, as well as aromatic herbs.
When conditioning the house, the natural light and combination and harmony of the furniture to achieve a warm and welcoming atmosphere was borne in mind. It has just one spacious floor with lots of natural light, a sunny terrace and a garden. The interior stands out thanks to the comfortable furniture and the numerous, restored antiques. It is made up of a dining room, fully fitted kitchen, one bathroom and two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms that originally was used as the main living room is large and has a 4- metre high sloping roof. From the various windows or from the terrace you can relax and appreciate the wide variety of trees and palm trees. There is access to the rest of the estate and an area where you can walk or go on hikes, enjoy the countryside, pure air and the stillness of the place.
This isolated dwelling situated near the village of Ingenio is surrounded by contrasting scenery with both arid and fertile zones. The relief and slight hilliness of the area invites guests to go on hikes to discover different places. Nearby, one can find the natural area of the unique ravine of Guayadeque, a place that was inhabited by aborigines, and where there is a museum, running water and cave houses; the museum, the "Postas" house, the old part of the village, restaurants, etc. Because of the central location, you can get information on any activity that can be carried out in both Ingenio and Gran Canaria. Thanks to the transport system, every thing you may need can be found nearby, and there are good connections to the rest of the island, allowing guests an opportunity to get to know this miniature continent, the black or golden sand beaches of the south, the shopping areas in the area or even the capital. Ingenio has traditionally been a farming and handicraft village; handicrafts such as ceramics, basket making, Canarian fabrics, etc. It boasts radiant sunshine throughout the year, a combination of arid and green areas full of palm trees and local flora. Amongst its fauna the famous Canarian lizard should be mentioned, as well as the wide variety of birds whose song are a joy to hear.
